Competitivity in the Wine Industry

  • Objective

    To validate the analytical methods for the wine production process and disseminate the knowledge to national laboratories.

  • Description

    The FDI-Corfo project “Wine Industry Competitivity and Quality: A Challenge for Testing laboratories (2003-2005)” supports this sector’s export process by establishing internationally recognized chemical measurements. This project will develop and validate the analytical methods for the relevant parameters in the wine production process, which will be transferred to the wine and product certification laboratories. Programs will also be developed and implemented in laboratories associated with the Quality Assurance Systems (QAS), following Guideline 17025.

  • Expected Results

    A total of 8 methods validated and transferred. The member laboratories will have quality assurance designed in accordance with their requirements.

Viñas Miguel Torres, San Pedro, Errázuriz; Santa Carolina; Santa Inés; Cantera; Aresti; Del Maule; Los Robles; Terranoble; Terramater; San Isidro; Morandé; Tarapacá; and international metrology institutions such as NIST (U.S.A.). LGC (England), NRC (Canada) and IRMM (Belgium). Inspection Agency: SAG.
